Summary
Fire and emergency services, researchers and weather experts are working on a new National Fire Danger Rating System.
The National Fire Danger Rating System project aims to design, develop and implement a new system for fire danger ratings which better reflect conditions, and delivers clearer information to the community.
To help guide this, a national research project is underway to gather the views of members of the community.
The research is also assisting with a national approach to warnings and information across multiple hazards such as floods and storms.
