Tullamore firies honoured for years of service

Twenty-three NSW Rural Fire Service volunteers from Tullamore Brigade were presented with Long Service Medals at Tullamore Bowling Club this week.

Minister for Emergency Services Hon Troy Grant MP, Assistant Commissioner Rebel Talbert, Deputy Mayor Barbara Newton from Parkes Shire Council and Superintendent Ken Neville, Manager Mid Lachlan Valley Team, presented medals to the following recipients:
John Newton 12 years of service, Craig Williams 14 years’ service, Troy Carey 16 years’ service, Ted Douglas, Natasha Shankelton and Shaun Williams 19 years’ service, Matthew Williams 20 years’ service, Anthony McClean, John McClean and Simon Walker 22 years’ service, Robert Porter 28 years’ service, Craig Allen and Max Davison 30 years’ service, John McAneney 31 years’ service, Lindsay Porter 35 years’ service, Darryl Martin and Paul Stanbrook 36 years’ service, Geoff Williams (posthumous award) for 37 years’ service, Judy Williams 37 years’ service, William Edwards and Robert Mawbey 38 years’ service, John Carey 50 years’ service, Allen Rees 52 years’ service and John Stanbrook for 63 years of service which combined is a total of 726 years of service.
The Tullamore Brigade also received the keys to a new state of the art Cat 6 fire tanker that comes fitted with the latest firefighting and safety features including crew protection sprays.
The tanker is worth over $400,000 and will provide a higher level of efficiency and quality of service to the community.
