Summary
Some of our MLVT RAFT crew have had a chilly weekend in the Blue Mountains...... looks like it was a great training exercise.
So have you ever wondered what the MLVT raft members get up to in the off season.
Well over the weekend 2 members (Chris and Tim) headed to the Megalong valley in the blue mountains to participate in a joint agency land and search rescue exercise.
Chris and Tim worked with police rescue, ambulance rescue and SES rescue in a mock scenario where persons had been reported lost in the national park.
Teams hiked in some very steep terrain to locate the missing persons and bring them to safety.
The teams camped out in some cold, chilly conditions over night.
The boys gained some valuable search and rescue skills from the exercise which will greatly help the team in the future.
