Ducked out to Bandon Brigade in the Mid Lachlan Valley earlier in the week. A great brigade operating out of a single bay RFS shed on private property, where we... held an evening ceremony for RFS Long Service Medals.
Local Group Officers joined with Mayor Graeme Miller, Inspector Robyn Favelle and Supt Paul Whiteley in the station for the ceremony. Notably, amongst the awardees was Merv Langfield celebrating 72 years’ service to the Mid Lachlan Valley.
Collectively we acknowledged the 19 Bandon Brigade members for a remarkable accumulated 803 years of service with Merv, Bob Wythes and Una Langfield having given 55 or more years each in service to their communities.
Finishing up with a BBQ and a chat, the chilly night was no match for the warm hospitality shown by the brigade and all those present. Thanks all for your service and congratulations on your outstanding achievements.
