RFS volunteers honoured for outstanding service; 639 years combined total

NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) volunteers have been recognised for their commitment to the Parkes community during a ceremony at the new Bogan Gate fire station.
Members of the Blowclear Brigade were awarded medals presented by Superintendent Ken Neville.

Supt Neville says the NSWRFS community is proud of the achievements of the medal recipients.
The 14 volunteers were awarded Long Service Medals for their years of dedicated work for the NSWRFS.
"These volunteers have between 29 and 66 of years of service to the NSWRFS – a combined total of 639 years," Supt Neville said.
"They've generously given their time to not only fight fires, but to help prepare the community before and during bush fire season.
"They're also regularly called out to help with other emergencies, including storms and motor vehicle accidents.
"They don't volunteer to win awards, but these dedicated NSWRFS members deserve recognition for the time and effort they've put in to help their community."
Supt Neville said while the contribution of all is equally important, special mention must go to Ray Hunter for notching up 66 years service in the NSWRFS.
"Gary Morgan, Tim Sander, Brian Shea, John Bogie, Peter Dray, Graeme Hunter, Robert McIntyre, Arnold Sander, William Maynard, Alan Dray, Keith Lowe, Horace Rawson are well-respected members of the Blowclear Brigade, and we offer them our congratulations on this outstanding achievement," Supt Ken Neville said.
