Cooler temperatures this week have not stopped the hard work by fire fighters in Forbes.
Dry fuel loads on paddocks are abundant and the danger of bushfires persists, Team Leader at the Mid-Lachlan Valley Rural Fire Service, Superintendent Ken Neville said on Thursday.
He said lightning recently started a fire near Condobolin, which the Mid-Lachlan Valley Team were patrolling after nearly 400 hectares were lost near Manna Mount.
Mr Neville said temperatures were not always the greatest factor for assessing risk of fire.
"If we have strong winds then there is an increased risk of fire," Mr Neville said.
"Most of our area hasn't received any rain at all."
