Bush Fire period now starts November 1st 2016

Summary

The Bush Fire Danger Period will now commence in the Mid Lachlan Valley Team area from November 1st 2016.

Continuing mild weather conditions and recent rainfall have caused the NSW Rural Fire Service to declare a late start to the statutory Bushfire Danger Period in the Mid Lachlan Valley Team area, covering the local government areas of Forbes, Lachlan, Parkes and Weddin Shires.

The Danger period traditionally starts on October 1, however this period will now commence on the 1st November.

Please ensure that you use fire responsibly and should you wish to burn you must still follow normal procedures such as notifying the fire control centre and neighbours.

You also need to check whether you required a Hazard Reduction Certificate and have adequate water supplies.
