Newcrest Mining’s Moly Plant Project Donation
Published Date: 16 Nov 2020
Summary
Newcrest Mining’s Moly Plant Project Team, along with its major contracting partners Worley and UCA, has donated $16,492 this quarter to the Canobolas Zone NSW RFS, as part of its ongoing safety initiative to ensure its construction site remains injury free.
The workforce driven safety initiative rewards the RFS – the charity chosen by the crews – with $1 from both Worley and UCA for every 10 hours that the crews remain Lost Time Injury (LTI) free. Newcrest also supports the initiative by matching the funds raised dollar for dollar.
The Moly Plant Project has remained LTI free since it commenced in February 2020, allowing the RFS to receive almost $30,000 so far this year.
A cheque for this quarter’s donation was presented to Rural Fire Service Canobolas Zone Superintendent, David Hoadley and Jenifer Bucknell during a recent visit to the command centre by UCA, Worley and Newcrest representatives.
