Fires lit ahead of wild weather

Summary
The NSW Rural Fire Service has given a stern warning to landholders who lit fires on Sunday ahead of wild weather.
Our volunteers last weekend were kept pretty busy and the forecast for the next few days is again looking dry and gusty.
If you are thinking about doing some burning over the weekend, please stop and ask yourself:
1: Have I contacted my neighbors and given 24 hours notice?
2: Have I contacted Canobolas FCC on 02 6363 6666?
3: Should I be burning in these conditions?
4: Do I have what I need to put a fire out if it escapes? ...
Our volunteer firefighters are always willing and able to do what they can to protect our community, but it is always frustrating attending fires where people have thrown caution to the wind.
