WHAT WE SET OUT TO DO

Protect / move stock
Respond required resources requested
Mop up effectively
Maintain local control
WHAT WENT WELL
Local control maintained
Fireground management remained on the fireground
Pre-planning by FCC very good
Decisions made early and all worked well
Catering – sufficient – mix of local and supplied
Bulk Water Carrier plus plant (stayed an extra day – tidy up)
Aviation support excellent
Water tank at Canowindra Road
Assistance from other agencies – SES, NPWS, Council
Comms – UHF28 worked well
Local Roster arranged for patrol
WHAT COULD BE BETTER
Push windrow's away from edge
Road closures – closed to all including residents/family. Reclosed/opened multiple times
Local comms plan to manage local firefighter access to fireground
Some tactical decisions made by outside crews – not always authorised by Group Captain
Action plan to develop more effective use and deployment of aircraft
Community information night for awareness
Potential for hazard reduction
