In addition to all the hard work our firefighters have undertaken in the Blue Mountains answering the calls for help from our residents and businesses resulting from the recent storms, since Friday 26th March, the Blue Mountains District has deployed over 275 firefighters, Strike Team Leaders and Incident Management Team personnel as part of a multi-agency Task Force to flood recovery duties in the Penrith, Blacktown, Hawkesbury and The Hills Local Government Areas.
Our Members have committed well in excess of 3300 personnel hours to assisting these communities who were so badly impacted by recent flooding from the severe weather event.
My sincere thank you on behalf of our communities to everyone who played a role in this extraordinary effort.
