Bush Fire Danger Period ends March 31st.

Summary
The Bush Fire Danger Period ends on the 31st March 2017. From the 1st April 2017 – 30 September 2017 Fire Safety Permits are no longer required; however Blue Mountains City Council requirements still apply year round for pile burns.
If you intend to do a pile burn of dead and dry vegetation from the 1st of April you are required to get consent to burn from the Blue Mountains City Council.
Consent for burning within the Blue Mountains local government area is given in two ways:
* A standing approval has been issued to a certain class of person, and
* An application process exists for all other residents.
Their website also lists the criteria to be eligible for the blanket approval (Class of Person), the basic conditions for the pile burn and gives you options if you don’t meet these criteria or conditions.
This process also helps notify us of your intended pile burn and helps air quality during the winter months to reduce the effects of smoke and other airborne pollution in the built up areas.
