Blue Mountains Captains Forum and Development Workshop

Summary
On Saturday 30 January, senior members from Rural Fire Brigades across the Blue Mountains and the District leadership team met in Katoomba at the Katoomba Community Centre for a continuing professional development workshop and forum.
Many challenges have been presented through COVID, in ensuring our membership and workforce remain, prepared and these forums within COVID requirements are an important tool for networking and collaboration.
Presentations included; Engineering, Equipment and Design, Work Health and Safety, Fire Behaviour Analysis, Fire Trail design and construction, Operational Improvement, and Lessons Management.
Our colleagues from Fire & Rescue NSW Bushfire/Aviation team provided a special presentation and demonstration on developments in Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) technology and capabilities in supporting wildfire suppression and hazard reduction programs.
Thank you to all the presenters, subject matter experts, senior Brigade and district leaders for a very productive and informative day.
